Choosing A Qualified Remodeler

Remodeling is the most important decision you will ever make regarding the value of your home. Long after you decide whom will alter your home, you will have to live surrounded with the effects of your decision. Remember, there are as many bad remodeling firms as there are good. Therefore, you need to choose wisely.

Please review the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) suggestions for choosing a remodeler:

  • Be sure to select an established firm with years of service in the area. You can also drive by their place of business and ask for references.
  • Observe the thoroughness of the contractor, and the time he spends with planning your project.
  • Ask to see the company’s contractor’s license, as well as their insurance information.
  • Ask several questions about how the process will be carried out and when work will be completed.
  • Ask for job specifications and plans in a formal contract, do not accept verbal promises.
  • A professional remodeling contractor should be consulted about design and function of any remodeling project.
  • Always remember, the lowest bid is rarely the best buy.

How We Work For You

At Southwestern Remodeling our highly skilled and dedicated professional staff goes the extra mile every day to make sure your remodeling experience is all it should be. From the initial consultation with one of our design specialists, to the customer care provided by our office service team, your complete satisfaction is always our goal.

The Phone Call

The first step in making your remodeling dream become a reality is to pick up the phone and give us a call. Dorothy or Debby will ask for some general information about what kind of project you have in mind. This will allow them to pair you with the proper design consultant, each one of our consultants has a specific area of expertise. At that time an appointment will be scheduled for an in home meeting to better understand your specific needs.

The In Home Consultation: Where the Fun Starts

The initial in home meeting is where we really get a proper feel for what functional needs and aesthetic desires you expect from your specific home improvement project. Most of these first meetings serve a “getting to know each other” purpose. Many of the projects we perform require extensive design, and it is impossible to truly meet your needs in one visit, other types of projects can be designed and estimated in this initial visit. Our design staff uses the latest in 3-D CAD design to allow you to visualize your ideas before construction begins. If necessary our consultant will gather the facts and measurements, take some time to design your project, and prepare a specific plan with budget options, then reschedule another appointment to go over the specifics of your project.

Becoming part of our family

After all of the details have been discussed and you choose Southwestern to become a part of your remodeling experience, an agreement will be signed, and your project will be reviewed by our production staff in a meeting with your design consultant. At this time we will determine a schedule and contact you to discuss a specific start date and address any special circumstance that need to be addressed while we are working at your home. Our goal is to make the construction process as easy on your everyday life as possible.

The Nuts and Bolts: Project Start Day

Today is the day. Your project manager will arrive at a predetermined time and set up a specific plan to begin construction. Many times a preconstruction meeting with your design consultant and your project manager will occur on this day. These meetings help to make sure all details of the project and expectations you have are meet with precision.

Ready, Set, Build

During the construction process you will have a dedicated service team ready to serve you and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Your project manager on site along with the team in the office, including your design consultant, will be available anytime to assist you. Our production staff in the field is not only highly skilled but is also there as your direct source for answering any questions that might arise during construction.
